L518 LARRY HOLZER Reports From THE OPERA! 09/21/09

The morning was very slow, but it started heating up by lunchtime.
Yoko Ono sitting outside at famed West Village eatery, DaSilvano’s with a friend. It seems like Yoko might have a broken pinky.The wife of Famed Beatle John Lennon was very gracious as she left the restaurant. Flashing a peace sign Yoko stopped and posed for a little while.
Driving through the Village we came upon famed designer Calvin Klein as he sat outside at Sant Ambroeus Cafe with a lady friend.
A tipster brought me back to DaSilvano’s where Hugh Jackman and his wife Deboraa were picking up their daughter, Eva from school.The family walked while Eva blasted out on her scooter. They went to a playground across the street where Hugh happily pushed his daughter on the swings. After some more walking they hit the ice cream parlor. Great family, the best in all NYC.
Tonight was the opening of opera season at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.
The performance was Puccini’s “Tosca” conducted by James Levine.
The Red Carpet arrivals were really decked out in their finest designer outfits.
Along with the stars are many people who were dressed like stars
Billy Joel and his newest girlfriend Deborah stopped to pose.
Designer Austin Scarlett who appeared on the first season of Project Runway escorted a beautiful young woman wearing his design.
Jason Wu who was so fortunate to design the gown worn by First Lady, Michelle Obama to the Inaugural Ball. Jason had his lovely lady friend on the carpet wearing his design.
