L521 LARRY HOLZER Reports From NYC 10/03/09
  • Started out on Monday and followed Hugh Jackman and his family to Easton Connecticut . The 2 hour ride brought us to Silverman’s Farm to pick some pumpkins and apples. With a brief stop at a gas station, where Jackman’s appearance caused a bit of excitement, we had a good journey.
Hugh and Deboraa along with Oscar and Eva were a happy family. This is really fun footage!
  • Finally back in the city I headed to the David Letterman Show. The guests today were Reality TV star, Brody Jenner and Desperate Housewives’ Felicity Huffman.
  • Tuesday Started at the “Gossip Girl” set. Hilary Duff, Penn Badgley and Jessica Szohr took a stroll. After a lunch break Taylor Momsen and her new gang of mean girls walked and talked.
  • Wyclef Jean ate alone at Vento.
  • Mariah Carey arrives at Macy’s to unveil her new perfume and as the crowd grew I barely saw her arrive.
  • Wednesday I am at the set of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Shia Labeouf, and actress Carey Mulligan and the iconic Director, Oliver Stone.
  • David Letterman was hosting 10 of the N.Y.Rangers including stars Sean Avery and Henrik Lundquist.
  • New Orleans crooner, Harry Connick Jr. arrives but we are all waiting for MADONNA! Madonna walks quickly to the stage door, gives a small wave and I wait for her to leave. About the same only in reverse.

L518 LARRY HOLZER Reports From THE OPERA! 09/21/09

The morning was very slow, but it started heating up by lunchtime.

Yoko Ono sitting outside at famed West Village eatery, DaSilvano’s with a friend. It seems like Yoko might have a broken pinky.The wife of Famed Beatle John Lennon was very gracious as she left the restaurant. Flashing a peace sign Yoko stopped and posed for a little while.
Driving through the Village we came upon famed designer Calvin Klein as he sat outside at Sant Ambroeus Cafe with a lady friend.

A tipster brought me back to DaSilvano’s where Hugh Jackman and his wife Deboraa were picking up their daughter, Eva from school.The family walked while Eva blasted out on her scooter. They went to a playground across the street where Hugh happily pushed his daughter on the swings. After some more walking they hit the ice cream parlor. Great family, the best in all NYC.
Tonight was the opening of opera season at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.

The performance was Puccini’s “Tosca” conducted by James Levine.
The Red Carpet arrivals were really decked out in their finest designer outfits.
Along with the stars are many people who were dressed like stars
Billy Joel and his newest girlfriend Deborah stopped to pose.

Designer Austin Scarlett who appeared on the first season of Project Runway escorted a beautiful young woman wearing his design.
Jason Wu who was so fortunate to design the gown worn by First Lady, Michelle Obama to the Inaugural Ball. Jason had his lovely lady friend on the carpet wearing his design.

Martha Stewart in a golden dress.
Edward Norton, the actor waved and looked quite uncomfortable as he posed.

Broadway star, Harvey Fierstein. Moviegoers will know him from “Tootsie”

A pregnant actress followed by a pregnant supermodel. Leelee Sobieski in Red, looking very glamorous and Karolina Kurkova in a kind of silvery dress.
The only female to ever be a “Star Trek” captain, Kate Mulgrew with her husband.

Like Father like Daughter.. Rock and Roll dad, Lenny Kravitz loves running by the press and Zoe Kravitz tried to do the same. I caught some of her antics on video.

On the set of Sex And The City 2 today. Long waits as the girls took at least 3 hours each in makeup. When I arrived I caught a glamorous looking, Cynthia Nixon strolling to the set.
Todays theme was a flashback to the 1980’s with Sarah Jessica Parker channeling her inner Madonna. Kristin Davis was kind of the anti-Madonna. With both stars looking great I was happy to finally shoot the scene.
As I left the set I happened upon Dr. Phil as he is preparing his new show for the NYC area.
Lots of waiting around today. As always check out the large crowd that the Sex and the City ladies always bring out.

SEX IN THE CITY 2 on the set LARRY HOLZER Reports L510

Before leaving on vacation, I was at the set of Gossip Girl where I got some trailer to set footage of Hilary Duff and Leighton Meester.
Also at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel was Christina Millian and her boyfriend producer “Dream”
Today I shot some really great footage of the fabulous NYC ladies of ” Sex and the City 2 “
The first scene was Kim Cattrall [ Samantha ] trying to cross a busy NYC street. Kim lovely in black, slaps the car and surprises the driver.
After shooting the scene a number of times, Sarah Jessica Parker [ Carrie ] arrived on set to share some hugs and kisses with Kim.
Also arriving on set were Cynthia Nixon [ Miranda ] and Kristin Davis [ Charlotte ]. The ladies shared some moments then did a very quick rehearsal of their upcoming scene. Hugs also for Director, Michael Patrick King
The scene was a hard one to shoot but with lots of coaxing [ from the 100 paparazzi on set ] we got the fabulous foursome to pose.

After they broke for lunch the day resumed with a scene with just Sarah J. and Kristin. After many takes the girls moved to another area of the plaza and when they did about 500 fans who were across the street charged across 5th Avenue. You will enjoy watching as police and security converge on the 2 stars. It is very funny video. For all you fans who couldn’t wait for the new movie I shot about 40 minutes of fantastic video. Much more tomorrow.
I was walking over to the “David Letterman Show” when I spotted the beautiful actress, Taraji P. Henson leaving her hotel. Taraji signed some autographs and smiled for the cameras.
Over at Letterman Julianna Margulies was leaving quickly. Once you see her horrible P.R. witch Kara you know there will be no posing or autographs. Just the usual fake wave.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was more than happy to cross the street and sign lots of autographs. I got some good video of Mr. Blair.
Also at the show to tape the Friday night episode was super actor, Michael Douglas. Mr Douglas is promoting his new film ” Beyond A reasonable Doubt “
Michael is also going to begin filming Wall Street 2 in NYC starting this week.
Gossip Girl Star, Leighton Meester was also on the show. Both stars signed autographs and posed briefly.

L509 LARRY HOLZER Reports From NYC 08/21/09

I shot the beautiful actress, Renee Zellweger a couple of times this week and today I shot her a couple more times. Renee in town to promote her newest film “my One And Only” appeared on Regis and Kelly Live and the David Letterman Show today. At Regis she posed and signed some autographs and ran into an old college friend. The two took a picture together and shared a hug.

Later at the Letterman Show, Renee had her publicist Lesley Sloan ask us not to yell as it disturbed Ms. Zellweger. We all stayed quiet except Carmen who kept talking about how quiet we will be. Renee posed and crossed the street to meet with her fans.

L507 LARRY HOLZER Reports from NYC 08/18/09

 
With sweltering summer heat and high humidity I ventured out to the ABC TV Studios, for this mornings GMA.
The first arrival was Breast Cancer Survivor, actress Christina Applegate. Christina who stars on the TV Series Samantha Who? signed some autographs and posed for the few papps on hand. Although she said she would pose more on her way out, she instead chose to sneak out of the building.
 
Renee Zellweger looked great in her tight gray dress and giant bag. Renee posed, and also signed autographs. Renee didn’t sneak out, but she did leave rather quickly. I also shot a little Diane Sawyer footage.
Went downtown to the set of Eat, Pray, Love the new Julia Roberts film. Although it was an interior shot I got some footage of the walk from trailer to set.
 
On set with Julia was Oscar nominated actress, Viola Davis. Ms. Davis was either overwhelmed by the heat or she hates me!
Back uptown to The David Letterman Show. Todays guests were Diane Kruger starring in the Quentin Tarrentino Film “Inglourious Basterds” and Billionaire Real estate Mogul, Donald Trump.
 
Exhausted, gotta go

L506 LARRY HOLZER Reports From NYC                 08/11/09

On the set of “Gossip Girl” and lots of cast members are around.

 Matthew Settle [ Rufus ], Penn Badgley [ Dan ], Taylor Momsen [ Jenny ], Blake Lively [ Serena ] also on hand Connor Paolo and Kelly Rutherford.

The scene is set in an upper eastside restaurant. The scene is an interior, so I could only shoot street shots and through the window.

 
 On the set of the new CW, TV series “The Beautiful Life” was show creater, Ashton Kutcher. I shot some video of Ashton working with the Director and some producers. As he left the set he went inside to say goodbye. As usual he ignored the calls from the paps.
 
Also on set was Mischa Barton, smiling, smoking, fanning herself and looking gorgeous. The other actress on set today was Australian SuperDuper Model, Elle Macpherson. It is just unbelievable how fit and beautiful she is.
 
Getting too hot, time to go

Jennifer Aniston in a lovely outfit was on the steps of the N.Y. State Supreme Court Building.

I shot the scene a few times since this was the cleanest video I have gotten of Jennifer.

JULIA ROBERTS & JAMES FRANCO on the set “EAT, PRAY, LOVE L503

Monday morning, the first day of Julia Roberts‘ new film shoot. The film is called “Eat, Pray, Love” The first shot was an interior scene. I was only able to get Julia walking and getting out of her SUV. James Franco her co-star in the film was also walking to set. I returned later in the afternoon and though security was a true circus, I worked hard to get some good video of Julia and James.

There will be lots more from this set later in the month.
